April Hutchins

Director of Finance

April Hutchins is the Accounting Director at Rottet Studio, bringing over 25 years of expertise in accounting, finance, and commercial construction management. She began her career in construction accounting and by the age of 26 owned and operated her own women-owned commercial subcontracting firm in Phoenix, Arizona, specializing in doors, frames, and hardening commercial projects.

In 2012, April relocated to Houston and was recruited as Accounting Director for a global commercial real estate firm. She later served in a dual role as Controller for an architectural firm and Commercial Construction Accounting Manager, overseeing complex accounting operations and driving process efficiencies.

Since joining Rottet Studio on October 25, 2021, April has contributed to the firm’s financial strategy and operational excellence under the leadership of CFO Traci Gholson. She is known for her hands-on approach, her ability to navigate multi-company accounting structures, and her commitment to mentorship and team development.

April’s career is distinguished by her combination of entrepreneurial experience, technical accounting expertise, and leadership in women’s professional networks, where she continues to advance initiatives that support growth and equity in business.
