Richard Riveire, AIA, NCARB

Founding Principal

With more than 30 years of experience shaping modern hospitality, residential and corporate interior environments, Richard Riveire, with long-time partner Lauren Rottet, has built one of the most respected interior architecture firms in the world.

Mr. Riveire’s professional experience includes work with 3D/International in Houston and with both the Houston and Los Angeles offices of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. In 1990, Riveire joined Keating Mann Jernigan Rottet as a Founding Principal. The firm merged with Daniel, Mann, Johnson, & Mendenhall (DMJM) in 1994. Prior to joining Rottet Studio in 2008, Richard Riveire headed the West Coast interiors practice of DMJM Rottet.

As Rottet Studio’s Principal based in Los Angeles, Mr. Riveire leads their West Coast and Asia practices. His thirst for culture and innovation has built him a reputation for leading the firm into new practice areas with a focus on brand building. His approach to design is inspired by a deep understanding of the process of creating environments that visually reflect the culture and brand of the client; with a unique emphasis on bridging the gap between brand-in-concept and brand-in-life. He has been responsible for a number of high profile projects including the headquarters for United Talent Agency and two new Presidential Bungalows at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. Having designed over 50 river and ocean ships for Viking Cruises, Mr. Riveire has set new standards for architectural design of ships and has won numerous design awards including Best New Ship by Cruise Critic and Number 1 Large Ocean Ship by at Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards. His extensive interiors portfolio includes numerous award-winning projects such as the renovation of the Team Disney headquarters building on the studio lot in Burbank, Morrison Foerster’s west coast headquarters in San Francisco, Broadcom’s Irvine headquarters Campus, the Steele Creek luxury residential high-rise in Denver, Viacom’s new Hollywood headquarters as well as the new Langham in San Francisco and Kimpton’s new Everly Hotel in Hollwood.

Mr. Riveire has extended his unique vision to the design of award-winning furniture and products. In addition to the popular Attache’ series of casegoods for Halcon, on which he teamed with Lauren Rottet, Mr. Riveire’s product collections include the Lineal seating series for Halcon; Links, Manele and Sterling lounge seating and table collections for Martin Brattrud, and the elegant Tableau casegoods collection for Steelcase Wood Furniture.
